Here's what you should know before going to Carnival: \ud83e\udd73<\/h2>\n
    \n
  1. Usually, bags are not allowed! However, I didn't have any problems and could simply bring my big fabric bag. \ud83d\ude1b<\/li>\n
  2. Each person can bring 2x 500ml plastic bottles (alcoholic drinks are allowed too! \ud83c\udf7b)<\/li>\n
  3. Each person is allowed 2 snacks\ud83c\udf6b.<\/li>\n
  4. It's not common for spectators to dress up big. A bit of glitter here & there is totally sufficient. \u2728<\/li>\n
  5. Food & drinks are affordable at the counter! \ud83c\udf7d<\/li>\n
  6. Each samba school performs for a maximum of 2 hours - then there's a 20-30 minute break. \u23f8<\/li>\n
  7. Toilets are free & easily accessible. \ud83d\udebb<\/li>\n
  8. You should be there about 2-3 hours in advance to secure a good spot! \ud83e\ude91<\/li>\n
  9. There's plenty of space & you won't feel crowded (at least that was our experience). \ud83d\ude42<\/li>\n
  10. Wear comfortable shoes or just take them off (there's plenty of dancing) \ud83d\udc83<\/li>\n
  11. Bring a cushion or a blanket as you'll be sitting on stones. \ud83e\udd70<\/li>\n
  12. Find a group to party with before the event, e.g., on Facebook. \ud83d\udc6f\u200d\u2640\ufe0f<\/li>\n
  13. The event is on Brazilian time. So, don't expect German punctuality! \ud83d\udd66<\/li>\n
  14. If you want to see all 6 samba schools, expect to be there all night! \ud83c\udf87<\/li>\n
  15. You won't need a jacket in these temperatures! It's more likely to be too hot than too cold! \ud83e\udd75<\/li>\n
  16. Book tickets & accommodation early!!! (around 50 euros per person) \ud83c\udfab<\/li>\n

    Off to Rio de Janeiro \ud83e\udd70<\/h2>\n

    This year, due to Corona, Carnival was postponed to April 20-30. On April 23, 2022, we took our flight at 03:00 in the morning from Fortaleza to Rio. So we arrived pretty exhausted. \ud83d\ude04 Our accommodation was right on Copacabana Beach. A beautiful beach! \ud83e\udd70 Of course, hotel prices were extremely high again. For a really shabby hostel, you'll have to reckon with 60 euros per night (for spontaneous booking). Luckily, we got the last relatively good accommodation! \ud83d\ude0c<\/p>\n

    During our last stay in Rio, we met a group via Facebook, which we met up with again. At first, we thought there would be a lot going on at the beach, but no such luck \ud83d\ude04. That's why we quickly got tickets for one of the biggest events in the world - the Carnival Parade \ud83d\ude0d. Here, a total of 6 different samba schools performed. An incredible experience! \ud83d\udc83<\/p>

    Small tip: Always book tickets in advance! We paid double - so 100 euros per person! \ud83e\udd13\ud83e\udd26\u200d\u2640\ufe0f<\/i><\/p> <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

    In total, there is space for about 90,000 people. The best samba schools (escolas do samba) parade along the 700-meter-long street of the Sambadrome. I couldn't stop marveling. \ud83e\udd29 One artistically decorated float after another passed by us. I don't even need to start on the fascinating dancers. It was simply impressive! \ud83d\ude0d<\/p> <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

    There was also a totally beautiful fireworks display \ud83c\udf86! The music was great & everyone was singing along loudly. Some even danced samba in the stands. It was a totally crazy feeling. You didn't know where to look first! \ud83d\udc40<\/p> <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

    Fact is: You should see this breathtaking event at least once in your life! Believe me \u263a\ufe0f<\/p>\n

    In the end, we finally took an UBER back to the hotel & fell asleep with our earworm. \ud83d\ude34 Despite the shower in the evening, everything, but really EVERYTHING, was covered in glitter the next morning \ud83d\ude04 And let me tell you, that glitter is stubborn! Days later, we found glitter in our washed socks. Hallelujah. Finally, we set off for our next adventure: an absolutely amazing road trip from Rio de Janeiro to Sao Paulo! \ud83d\ude0d<\/p>\n

    Das solltest du wissen, bevor du zum Karneval f\u00e4hrst: \ud83e\udd73<\/h2>
    1. Normalerweise sind keine Taschen erlaubt! Ich hatte allerdings gaaaar keine Probleme und konnte meinen gro\u00dfen Stoffbeutel einfach mit nehmen.\ud83d\ude1b<\/li>
    2. Pro Person d\u00fcrfen je 2x 500ml Plastikflaschen mitgenommen werden ( auch alkoholische Getr\u00e4nke sind erlaubt! \ud83c\udf7b)<\/li>
    3. Pro Person sind 2 Snacks erlaubt\ud83c\udf6b.<\/li>
    4. Es ist nicht \u00fcblich sich als Zuschauer gro\u00df zu verkleiden. Ein bisschen Glitzer hier & da reicht v\u00f6llig aus.\u2728<\/li>
    5. Essen & Getr\u00e4nke bekommst du preiswert an der Theke!\ud83c\udf7d<\/li>
    6. Jede Sambaschule geht h\u00f6chstens 2 Stunden - danach findet eine 20-30 Min\u00fctige Pause statt.\u23f8<\/li>
    7. Toiletten sind kostenfrei & schnell erreichbar.\ud83d\udebb<\/li>
    8. Du solltest ca. 2-3 Stunden vorher da sein, damit du einen guten Platz ergattern kannst!\ud83e\ude91<\/li>
    9. Es ist ausreichend Platz & du wirst nicht eingeengt ( zu mindest war es bei uns so).\ud83d\ude42<\/li>
    10. Zieh dir bequeme Schuhe an oder ziehe sie einfach aus ( Es wird ordentlich getanzt )\ud83d\udc83<\/li>
    11. Nimm dir ein Sitzkissen oder eine Decke mit, da du auf Steinen sitzt.\ud83e\udd70<\/li>
    12. Such dir vor dem Event eine Gruppe mit der du Party machen kannst, z.B. bei Facebook.\ud83d\udc6f\u200d\u2640\ufe0f<\/li>
    13. Das Event findet zur brasilianischen Zeit statt. Also rechne nicht mit deutscher P\u00fcnktlichkeit!\ud83d\udd66<\/li>
    14. Falls du alle 6 Sambaschulen sehen m\u00f6chtest, rechne damit - die ganze Nacht dort zu sein!\ud83c\udf87<\/li>
    15. Eine Jacke wirst du bei diesen Temperaturen nicht brauchen! Es ist eher zu hei\u00df, als zu kalt!\ud83e\udd75<\/li>

      Ab nach Rio de Janeiro\ud83e\udd70<\/h2>

      Dieses Jahr wurde, aufgrund von Corona, der Karneval auf den 20 - 30. April verschoben. Am 23.04.2022 nahmen wir unseren Flug um 03:00 Uhr morgens von Fortaleza nach Rio. Wir kamen daher bereits ziemlich fertig an. \ud83d\ude04 Unsere Unterkunft lag direkt am Copacabana Strand. Ein wundersch\u00f6ner Strand !\ud83e\udd70 Nat\u00fcrlich waren die Preise f\u00fcr Hotels wieder enorm hoch. F\u00fcr ein wirklich sch\u00e4biges Hostel musst du schon mit 60 Euro die Nacht (bei spontaner Buchung) rechnen. Zum Gl\u00fcck haben wir noch die letzte, relativ gute Unterkunft bekommen!\ud83d\ude0c<\/p>

      Bei unserem letzten Aufenthalt in Rio, haben wir eine Gruppe kennengelernt via Facebook, mit der wir uns erneut verabredeten. Zun\u00e4chst dachten wir, dass am Strand richtig viel los sein wird, aber Pustekuchen\ud83d\ude04. Deshalb holten wir uns noch schnell Tickets f\u00fcr eines der gr\u00f6\u00dften Events der Welt - die Karneval Parade\ud83d\ude0d. Hier traten insgesamt 6 verschieden Sambaschulen auf. Ein unglaubliches Erlebnis! \ud83d\udc83<\/p>

      Kleiner Tipp: Tickets immer im Voraus buchen! Wir zahlten das doppelte - also 100 Euro pro Person!\ud83e\udd13\ud83e\udd26\u200d\u2640\ufe0f<\/i><\/p>\n\n[gallery _orderbyrandom=\"false\" ids=\"1903,1900,1902\"]\n

      Insgesamt gibt es Platz f\u00fcr ungef\u00e4hr 90.000 Menschen. Die besten Sambaschulen (escolas do samba) ziehen \u00fcber die 700 Meter lange Stra\u00dfe des Samb\u00f3dromo. Ich kam aus dem staunen gar nicht mehr heraus.\ud83e\udd29 Ein kunstvoll, geschm\u00fcckter Wagen nach dem anderen fuhr vor uns entlang. Von den faszinierenden T\u00e4nzern brauche ich gar nicht erst anzufangen. Es war einfach nur beeindruckend!\ud83d\ude0d<\/p>\n[gallery _orderbyrandom=\"false\" ids=\"1916,1909,1910\"]\n

      Au\u00dferdem gab es noch ein total sch\u00f6nes Feuerwerk \ud83c\udf86! Die Musik war genial & alle Menschen sangen lautstark mit. Einige tanzten sogar Samba auf den Trib\u00fcnen. Es war ein total verr\u00fccktes Gef\u00fchl. Du wusstest nicht, wo du zuerst hinsehen solltest!\ud83d\udc40<\/p>\n[gallery _orderbyrandom=\"false\" ids=\"1914,1917,1911\"]\n\n

      Fakt ist : Du solltest dieses atemberaubende Event mindestens 1x im Leben gesehen haben! Glaub mir\u263a\ufe0f<\/p>

      Am Ende nahmen wir schlie\u00dflich ein UBER zur\u00fcck ins Hotel & schliefen mit unserem Ohrwurm ein. \ud83d\ude34 Trotz der Dusche am Abend war am n\u00e4chsten Morgen alles, aber wirklich ALLES voller Glitzer \ud83d\ude04 Und dieser Glitzer ist hartn\u00e4ckig sag ich dir! Noch Tage sp\u00e4ter haben wir Glitzer in unseren gewaschenen Socken gefunden. Halleluja. Schlie\u00dflich machten wir uns auf zu unserem n\u00e4chsten Abenteuer: ein absolut genialer Roadtrip von Rio de Janeiro nach Sao Paulo! \ud83d\ude0d<\/p>
