Where is Cap-d'Ail located and why is it worth visiting?

Cap-d’Ail lies on the Côte d’Azur in the Alpes-Maritimes département, right next to Monaco. Located at the foot of the Tête de Chien near La Turbie, the municipality combines coves and coastal paths with Belle Époque villas and Mediterranean gardens. Add to that a theatre designed by Jean Cocteau, a church with colored stained-glass windows and the Château des Terrasses.

The municipality covers 2.04 square kilometers and ranges in altitude from sea level to 540 meters. There are therefore considerable differences in elevation between the coast and the higher-lying parts of the town. Tip: When planning your journeys, consider not only the distance but also the elevation of the train station, beach, and tourist attractions.
